Obituary
Joe Polaischer died peacefully at home on Rainbow Valley Farm on 14 February 2008 after a short illness. See below for tributes.
Joe Polaischer was born in Austria and grew up on a peasant farm in the Austrian Alps. He spent many years in Africa and South America in his twenties. Joe was passionate about sustainability, self-sufficiency, appropriate technology and bio-regional community development. He has a Diploma in Permaculture and taught permaculture in New Zealand, Europe and Japan for 20 years.

Trish Allen is a New Zealander who has always been interested in organic food production and nutrition - using in-season, unprocessed vegetables and fruit, grown sustainably. Trish is a permaculture teacher. She has continued run Rainbow Valley Farm since Joe’s death. |
