Rainbow Valley Farm Wins Environmental Award |

Rainbow Valley Farm has won one of Auckland’s top environmental honours. The farm won the Beyond Recycling (Business Catego ry) in the Auckland Environment Awards presented on 25 February 2010. The judges said: “Trish Allen and the late Joe Polaischer devoted themselves to encouraging and educating others about ways to lessen their environmental footprint. Their perma culture farm at Matakana is a living testament to their philosophies and hard work, and has inspired hundreds of people to adopt more environmentally-friendly practices in their gardens and homes”.
In her acceptance speech Trish dedicated the award to Joe as the driving force behind the establishment of the farm and to the many friends, volunteers and supporters who have put their love and good energy into the farm over many years. |
